With impending winter many raptors have settled into a location where they will spend the next several months, or they will take advantage of the cool clear fall days here in the Basin before moving on to lower elevations. Currently raptor numbers are high and there is a diversity of species. On Saturday, November 16th, Klamath Audubon will have a field trip to Butte Valley, CA, focusing on raptors. It will be an all-day trip ending mid-afternoon. Meet at the Klamath Visitors Center, 405 Riverside Drive, Klamath Falls parking lot before 8:30 am with car pools at 8:30, or meet near the large flagpole in Dorris, CA, at 9 am. Bring snacks/lunch, water, binoculars and scope (if you have one). For more info contact trip leader, Kevin Spencer at rriparia@charter.net
