Butte Valley Raptor Rally. This has been an annual tradition to head down to Butte Valley where raptors concentrate near areas with certain prey. There will be several buteo species, along with two eagle species of different ages. Falcons, harriers, and sometimes with an occasional accipiter, makes this an interesting trip. Leader: (To Be Announced). Meet at the locomotive in Veteran's Park, at 9 am for carpool arrangements, prior to the half-hour drive to the area. This trip is mostly by car with occasional viewing through scopes. (If you have a scope, please bring it). A continuation of this trip could include Townhsip Road in Oregon near the Lower Klamath NWR. The group returns about mid-afternoon. Besides optics, bring water, snacks/lunch, hat, sunscreen, and gas money for your car pool driver.
